Boycott Corporations Who Spam You

If an otherwise legitimate company (ie. one you might have actually bought something from otherwise) sends you Spam, keep track of that fact. In addition to regular complaints, decide to boycott this company. Write them a letter, or phone their toll-free number and explain how unhappy you are with their unethical marketing practices.

More importantly, if you do need a product or service that they sell, make a point of buying a competing product or service from someone else. Phone the spammer again, talk to their sales department, and tell them what you bought, and why you did not purchase it from the spammer.

This technique should be used for telemarketers too, but that's off-topic.
